About Me

me

Hi! I'm Wei De. I am currently serving my national service, but my interest in tech goes back further than that. I first got exposed to HTML and CSS back in 2019, but didn't truly dive into software development until 2023. Since then it's kind of just stuck. I studied Diploma in Information Technology in Singapore Polytechnic(now known as Diploma in Computer Science), and before NS I interned at MAS where I got my first real taste of shipping code to production.

There's something about building something from scratch and watching it actually work that keeps pulling me back to it. During my internship at MAS I went from a tester to a developer mid-way through — I just wanted to be more hands-on and was lucky enough to be given the chance to show my skills and got the role.

Outside of tech I'm pretty simple — I go to the gym, game, and occasionally drag myself out for a run. I also have a bit of an obsession with motorsports, mostly F1 and endurance racing. NS keeps me busy but I do my best to find time to work on projects when I can. I'm always looking to learn something new, whether that's picking up a new framework, understanding how something works under the hood, or just building stuff for the sake of it.
